Nicki Minaj Is Pregnant: See the Announcement and Baby Bump Pics

In addition to being the queen of the Barbz, Nicki Minaj might have to buy some real Barbies now. The rapper posted pictures of her pregnant belly on Monday morning (July 20), using the simple hashtag «#Preggers.»

While a spokesperson for the 37-year-old MC could not be reached for confirmation of the good news, Nicki is all smiles in one of the snaps, cradling her baby bump with both hands while smiling and sporting a bedazzled bikini and matching stiletto heels.

In another pic, a blue-haired Minaj stands, again cradling her bump.

This would be the first child for Minaj, who married Kenneth Petty last October.

Minaj announced on the Aug. 12 episode of her Queen Radio show that she had filed for a marriage license and expected to be married within two months. In an interview with The Shade Room posted on Sunday Minaj clarified her recent statements about a potential retirement from the game and also said she expected to file the necessary paperwork to get married imminently; a few days later she changed her Twitter display name to «Mrs. Petty.» She made Barbz’s hearts stop a few weeks later when she teased a possible retirement again to focus on starting a family with Petty.

«We’ll definitely do the paperwork portion of the marriage, but the actual wedding, I don’t know,» she said, adding that she wasn’t sure she wanted to throw a lavish ceremony. «You know when you’re a little girl and you want this big beautiful wedding, and I used to think I was one of those girls, I always wanted the fairytale. But then the things that used to matter to you don’t matter as much.»

Mark your calendars because new Nicki Minaj is coming. Things have been heating up for the rapper since she dropped dual singles, “Barbie Tingz” and “Chun-Li,” in April. They marked a welcome return after months of mystery. Since then, the surprises have continued. Last week, she kicked things into high gear with a pair of vibrant videos. Today (May 7), the 35-year-old confirmed the album’s title and release date while walking the red carpet at the 2018 Met Gala. Turning heads in a stunning scarlet gown complete with a jeweled headdress and matching wrap, the hitmaker dropped the news during an interview.

When asked what made the night so special, Nicki made her big announcement. “It’s a big night for me because I just let the world know that my album is coming June 15 and it’s called Queen, and I can’t wait,” she told a reporter. Queen will be the “Anaconda” diva’s fourth LP and her first since she rolled out The Pinkprint in 2014. The era is off to a bold start. “Chun-Li” has already made an appearance in the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100, while “Barbie Tingz” peaked at the number 25 spot. Paired with their new visuals and an appearance on Saturday Night Live this weekend, they may reach new peaks in the coming weeks. Check out the confirmation below.

Double Feature: Nicki Minaj Brings The Heat In Her “Chun-Li” & “Barbie Tingz” Videos

Get ready for a double feature. Nicki Minaj is kicking off the weekend by releasing not one but two videos. Today (May 4), the femcee rolled out visuals in support of “Barbie Tingz” and “Chun-Li.”Unsurprisingly, both releases practically vibrate with energy and bold colors. Directed by Giovanni Bianco and Nicki herself, the former has been heralded as the return of Harajuku Barbie. In it, the 35-year-old shows off her toned body in a variety of sexy costumes. Shot against a stark white background, the vibrant colors are brilliant, making for a fun but simple affair.

Although “Barbie Tingz” is a jewel-toned delight, the “Chun-Li” visual is a clear standout. Directed by Steven Klein, it is a more cinematic release. In it, Nicki plays the ultimate femme fatale. She delivers endless fierce looks including the double buns that were the signature of the track’s namesake. Boasting impressive choreography and striking visuals, the neon-drenched release is a must-see. After going top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100, it seems like “Chun-Li” is a more viable option as the “Regret In Your Tears” hitmaker prepares to usher in a new era.

In comparison, “Barbie Tingz” peaked at the still respectable number 25. Both singles suffered a drop on the chart the following week, but the videos should give them a boost. With plans to take the stage at Saturday Night Live on May 19, Nicki may be able to take “Chun-Li” top 5. Check out the “Barbie Tingz” video up top and watch “Chun-Li” below!

Drama? Nicki Minaj Opens Up About The Alleged Cardi B Beef

Another day, another drama. Nicki Minaj opened up about her alleged beef with Cardi B in an interview with Zane Lowe on Beats 1. The femcees have been rumored to be at war at various points since the “Bodak Yellow” rapper made chart history by nabbing the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100. Things reached a fever pitch after they hopped on Migos’ “MotorSport” together last winter. After the song dropped, the up-and-coming artist gave a less than flattering review of working with Nicki (apparently, her verse was not finished when Cardi recorded hers), which only fed the rumors.

Before premiering “Barbie Tingz” and “Chun-Li” yesterday (April 12), the 35-year-old opened up about how she felt ambushed by Cardi and Migos after the single dropped. Seeming genuinely hurt but the situation, Nicki offered some praise for the breakout rapper. However, she admitted to being offended by Cardi’s interview. “I remember when I first came in the game if a female of that stature had done a feature with me on it, I would only be singing their praises and saying thank you,” she said. She went on to explain that Quavo failed to back her up on Twitter after the fall out, and she felt that it was to feed into the brewing drama.

“It hurt my feelings to know that people would watch me be slaughtered. And not one person will step in to say the truth,” she said, claiming that it was because it was entertaining to make her seem like the “bad guy.” Things reached a fever pitch after there were scheduling conflicts while shooting the music video, further adding to the drama.

Nicki hopped on Twitter after the interview aired to drop some further clarification about the situation. “How can you say someone changed their verse & forget to say Quavo TOLD me to remove my singing part (which I loved) & Atlantic told me to remove your name from my verse per your request,” she asked. “So how were those changes gonna happen if I didn’t “change” my verse?” Cardi has yet to reply to the situation, but this could very well be the beginning of a tenuous relationship between the pair.

Although rap feuds are becoming more common by the day, it is worth noting that both Nicki and Cardi are doing very well professionally. At the time of publication, the “No Frauds” rapper has the top two spots on US iTunes with her new tracks. Meanwhile, the “Be Careful” hitmaker broke streaming records with her Invasion of Privacy LP and is expected to make a strong debut on the Billboard 200 albums chart next week. Can’t they just share the crown? Check out the Beats 1 interview and tweet below!

New Music Alert: Nicki Minaj Announces New Singles “Barbie Tingz” & “Chun Li”

The wait is over! Anticipation has been boiling over as fans wait for new music from Nicki Minaj. Today (April 10) she announced that we will have a first taste of her forthcoming album even sooner than expected. Confirming rumors of an imminent release, the femcee took to Instagram to announce plans to roll out two singles on Thursday (April 12). Titled “Barbie Tingz” and “Chun Li,” it seems safe to assume that they will dominate radio for the next few months.

We don’t know much about the singles yet; however, the vibrant covers seem to hint at more of a pop/rap crossover. Dressed in a period-specific gown on the cover of “Barbie Tingz,” she serves a fierce pose. She trades out the layers for a more salacious look on “Chun Li.” Here, she pairs a fur jacket with a thong and thigh-high boots. With her hair in buns and some serious jewelry, it is a striking image that is sure to start conversations.

Nicki has been teasing her fourth LP for months now, and it is easily one of the most anticipated projects of 2018. In an interview with Tmagazine last October, she alluded to returning to the edgier sound of her pre-fame mixtapes. “This is definitely the most inspired and free and excited I’ve been since I started releasing albums through a label,” Nicki said.

“When you’re doing your own little thing, you feel like, I can be myself, I can be crazy. When you start working with a record company, you start thinking you need a bigger sound. I wanted to get back to the place where I wasn’t second-guessing things so much. Sometimes simple is O.K.” Check out the single covers below while we wait for them to drop!

Nicki Minaj, Cardi B & Migos Get Hype And Futuristic For Their “MotorSport” Video

At long last a music video has been released to commemorate the first collaboration between rap’s leading ladies, Nicki Minaj and Cardi B. The pair made history when they teamed up with hip-hop collective Migos on “MotorSport” earlier this fall. Today (December 7) they have finally gotten around to sharing a video, and it was definitely worth the wait. There’s just one problem. The two femcees never got together in front of the camera.

Instead, Nicki and Cardi filmed individual scenes to air during their verses. The Georgia-based trio open the Bradley&Pablo and Quavo-directed visual in a futuristic garage surrounded by some expensive cars and hype-women. The “Bodak Yellow”hitmaker appears next. Dressed in some modified racing gear she delivers seductive poses in front of a blazing red car. In a separate scene, Nicki delivers a high fashion look while posing in front of an impressive car of her own. Rocking her best metal corset and latex bodysuit with her floor-length pink hair in braids, she is the star of another striking visual. As the video comes to a close she and Migos ride off into a neon-lit city.

The music video could not come at a better time. “MotorSport” reached a quick peak in the top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 due to the group’s combined star power. But it could climb much higher with the right promotion. Although Nicki and Cardi did not get a chance to interact in the video, fans will still be hungry to see them both in action. Fingers crossed Migos can get everyone together for a joint performance or two. If they manage to pull that off, the track is bound to go at least top 10. Until then watch them all in action up top!

Nicki Minaj Sets The Record Straight About Cardi B’s Feature On “Motor Sport”

One of the strangest theories swirling around social media goes a little something like this: Nicki Minaj had no idea that Cardi B was joining her on Migos’ “Motor Sport”and only found out after the song was released. Wrong. The rapper found a little time to set the record straight on Twitter. “I was on the song w/Quavo,” she begins. “No one else was on it. He called & asked if I think we should put Bardi on it, I said ‘ok let’s do it’. The end.” The 34-year-old finds the whole hypothesis absurd.

“Migos weren’t even on it yet,” Nicki continues. “Just Quavo. The conspiracy theories r just so tired. Relax. Breathe. Imagine me not knowing who on a song w/me.” The hitmaker then gives specifics. “Anything w/my name on it gets approved by me,” she explains. “It can’t even go on a streaming service w/o me hearing it & giving written approval.” Why do these rumors keep popping up? “These are men in our culture who simply refuse to let it go. They don’t do this to male M.C.’s.” See her tweets below.

Fergie & Nicki Minaj’s Sleek & Sexy “You Already Know” Video

Just when I thought Fergie’s Double Dutchess campaign was a lost cause, the “Glamorous” legend stepped up the promo with an onslaught on videos and two massive bops. While “Hungry” is more of a mood-setter, “You Already Know” seems to be the 42-year-old best chance of landing an era-saving hit. A pop/rap collaboration with Nicki Minaj, the hook-filled anthem was heavily inspired by ’90s house (it’s basically a modern update of “It Takes Two” by Rob Base and DJ E-Z Rock) and has the kind of chorus that weasels its way into your brain and refuses to leave.

It also got off to a good start on iTunes and was warmly received on social media. Time will tell if it connects at radio, but the just-released video should add to its momentum. The black-and-white spectacle, which was directed by Brazilian artist Bruno Ilogti, is sleek and sexy. Fergie serves serious looks while partaking in games like chess and ping pong. Her collaborator makes a cameo and they both strike provocative poses in skimpy outfits. It looks expensive and has all the ingredients to go viral. Watch it up top.

bout to break out of my cage 🦁🦁

Katy Perry’s “Swish Swish” Video Was Worth The Wait

It was nice getting to know Katheryn Hudson a little better on Witness, but Katy Perry makes a welcome return in her “Swish Swish” video. From the slapstick comedy to the celebrity cameos and underdog theme, the Dave Meyers-directed clip is a throwback to the cheery fun of “Hot N Cold,” “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)” and “Roar.” It’s not so much a retreat as a reminder that the goofy, relatable pop star we all know and love is still there. She just has better hair and more to say.

Katy has described the video as depicting “the most absurd [basketball] game of the century” and that sounds about right. The Tigers, led by our brave heroine, take on The Sheep and they get slaughtered. However, like all good sport sagas, there’s a last-minute comeback and the “Bon Appetit” hitmaker’s band of misfits come together to wreak havoc on the court. The video is extremely cute and intensely watchable. I’m just not sure why it took so long to arrive. Anyway, better late than never! Watch up top.
