Jamie Spears’ Lawyer Defends Britney Spears Conservatorship

0

The lawyer for Britney Spears’ father Jamie defended his conservatorship over his daughter in a series of interviews this week after renewed calls to #FreeBritneyfollowing the release of the Framing Britney Spears documentary.

Over the past week, Jamie Spears’ lawyer Vivian Lee Thoreen, speaking on behalf of her client, spoke to CNN, NBC News, and Good Morning America to reiterate that Jamie only has his daughter’s best interests in mind and that he is hopeful that one day his daughter would not require the legal arrangement that has put him in charge of her estate since 2008.

“[Jamie] would love nothing more than to see Britney not need a conservatorship,” Thoreen told CNN. “Whether or not there is an end to the conservatorship really depends on Britney. If she wants to end her conservatorship, she can file a petition to end it.” The lawyer noted that, in 13 years, Spears has yet to file the petition.

Speaking to Good Morning America, Thoreen also railed against the portrayal of Jamie Spears throughout the legal battle. “I understand that every story wants to have a villain, but people have it so wrong here. This is a story about a fiercely loyal, loving, and dedicated father who rescued his daughter from a life-threatening situation. People were harming her and they were exploiting her.”

Spears’ next conservatorship hearing is scheduled for March 13th. Thoreen noted that a court investigator, and not Jamie Spears, determines whether or not the conservatorship should continue. “They do a deep dive to really study the conservatorship to find out what’s going on. And what I can tell you is every year the court has kept the conservatorship in place,” Thoreen told CNN.

While Britney has remained largely silent since the documentary premiered, her boyfriend Sam Asghari slammed Jamie in a February Instagram post. “Now it’s important for people to understand that I have zero respect for someone trying to control our relationship and constantly throwing obstacles our way,” Asghari wrote. “In my opinion, Jamie is a total dick.”

Thoreen told CNN, “Jamie is not suggesting that he is the perfect dad or that he would receive any ‘Father of the Year’ award. Like any parent, he doesn’t always see eye-to-eye on what Britney may want. But Jamie believes every single decision he has made has been in her best interest.”

Billie Eilish’s ‘personal’ photo book coming in May: ‘I hope you love it as much as I do’

0

NEW YORK — At age 19, Billie Eilish is already looking back.

The Grammy-winning star is releasing a collection of hundreds of rarely seen photos in May, Grand Central Publishing announced Tuesday. The book is called “Billie Eilish” and, according to Grand Central, will “capture the essence of Billie inside and out, offering readers personal glimpses into her childhood, her life on tour, and more.”

“Billie Eilish” includes text but is “predominantly” photos, the publisher said.

In a statement Tuesday, Eilish said: “I spent many hours over many months pouring through my family albums and archives, handpicking all of the photos in this book. I hope you love it as much as I do.”

The pop rebel has achieved more in 19 years than most artists do in their entire careers.

Fans will get a peek of her launch to stardom during the new Apple TV+ documentary, «Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry,» out Feb. 26. The film follows Eilish as she recorded her hit debut album, «When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?»

The March 2019 album led to Eilish’s domination of the 2020 Grammys, where she took home the four biggest awards, becoming only the second artist to do so — and the youngest.

She won the album, record and song of the year categories as well as best new artist — the first singer to do so since Christopher Cross in 1981. Eilish also took home the gilded gramophone for best pop vocal album.

The Lion King: The Gift.

It’s official: Demi Lovato is getting hitched!

The pop star is taking her relationship with Max Ehrich to the next stage, after saying “yes” to his marriage proposal.

The “Sorry Not Sorry” singer shared the good news in an Instagram post (see below).

“When I was a little girl, my birth dad always called me his ‘little partner’ – something that might’ve sounded strange without his southern cowboy like accent,” she writes. “To me it made perfect sense. And today that word makes perfect sense again but today I’m officially going to be someone else’s partner.”

Ehrich, whom she has been romantically linked to since March, is the right guy.  “I knew I loved you the moment I met you,” she continues.

“It was something I can’t describe to anyone who hasn’t experienced it firsthand but luckily you did too.. I’ve never felt so unconditionally loved by someone in my life (other than my parents) flaws and all,” she enthuses. “You never pressure me to be anything other than myself. And you make me want to be the best version of myself.”

Ehrich proposed, Lovato said yes. And the happy couple are all loved up.

“I’m honored to accept your hand in marriage,” Demi writes. “I love you more than a caption could express but I’m ecstatic to start a family and life with you. I love you forever my baby. My partner. Here’s to our future.”

The couple confirmed their relationship in May by making a surprise appearance in the music video for Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande’s quarantine tune, «Stuck With U.”

Since then, it’s all been cuddles for the pair, who are both in their late 20s. A wedding date has yet to be announced.

One Direction Teases 10th Anniversary With First Social Media Posts Since 2018

Get ready to blast «History,» because One Direction has dusted off their social media accounts in preparation for the boy band’s 10th anniversary.

«Tomorrow! You and me got a whole lot of history #10YearsOf1D,» the band shared on both Twitter and Instagram on Wednesday (July 22) alongside a simple black-and-white graphic that reads «10 Years of One Direction.»

Prior to the surprise post, the last tweet from the quintet’s official account came two years ago to celebrate their eighth anniversary. Meanwhile, the band’s last Instagram post was all the way back in May 2016, promoting their guest appearance on FOX’s Family Guy months after they had announced their indefinite hiatus.

While it’s unclear what surprises the 1D guys have in store for their legions of fans, rumors have been rumbling for quite some time about an impending reunion between the bandmates.

The evidence? Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson have all openly discussed the likelihood of getting the band back together in various interviews over the last few years. (In fact, just a few weeks ago Payne sent Directioners into a frenzy by posting a TikTok of a cryptic FaceTime call with Styles.)  Zayn Malik, meanwhile, has remained mum on the subject since leaving the group in early 2015, though his former bandmates all re-followed him on social media back in April as well.

Check out 1D’s 10th anniversary teaser below.
