Camila Cabello Promises James Corden She’s *Totally* Still Planning to Record ‘Señorita’ Duet With Him

ISSUE 28 2018 - NOT OUT YET - DO NOT USE!!! OUT DEC. 13, 2018

Camila Cabello loves it when boyfriend Shawn Mendes calls her «Señorita» — per their Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper — but what about James Corden?

Cabello posted a video of herself on Twitter greeting her UK fans with a choppy accent and telling them to pre-order her forthcoming Romance studio album to gain access to her Romance Tour next year. That’s when the British late-night talk show host chimed in to remind the songstress he was ready to go.

«Oh yeah, I booked mine! I’ve done mine, got my pre-order. All is done,» he assured her in the video.

But Corden himself sought reassurance from the 22-year-old artist. «But I’m concerned because you said to pre-order the album, which means it’s nearly out, but we haven’t done our duet yet,» he teased with a serious face and tone. «You know that song ‘Señorita’ that you were saying we should probably sing together?»

Even though Cabello’s mouth said it’s «for sure» still happening, her face told a different story.

Camila Cabello Sets the Mansion on Fire In Outrageous ‘Liar’ Music Video: Watch

0

There’s something wild about Camila Cabello’s “Liar” music video.

Maybe it’s the elephants dropping from the skies, or the flock of flamingos camped on her property. Or the dozens of identical cyclists who swamp her.

Whatever, it’s hilarious and ridiculous.  And it looks as expensive as her fiance’s tastes.

Directed by Dave Meyers, “Liar” sees Cabello play a range of characters for fun. As the story goes, she’s stuck with a rich douchebag, who she doesn’t really like, and she hates the restaurant he takes her to, and doesn’t dig his folks.

But it’s hard to decipher what’s real and what’s a dream. She’s living a lie. But she does like the waiter, for real.

After setting the mansion on fire, her tales are tested with a polygraph (you know, a lie detector). It’s a wild ride.

“Liar” is the followup to Cabello’s “Shameless,” and she’ll perform it Oct. 12 on Saturday Night Live.

Camila Cabello Shares ‘What Do I Know About Love?’ Teaser Video: Watch

Fans have been waiting for details about Camila Cabello’s next album for some time now, and while we still don’t have many, the singer shared a new video on Saturday morning (Aug. 31) that could provide some clues.

Titled «What Do I Know About Love?», the spoken-word video features Cabello waxing poetic about love. «I know when you fall in love, you feel like you’re the first and only two people in the world,» she says. «Every kiss, every touch, every caress is like something you feel nobody has ever felt before. And you think, has everybody that’s ever fallen in love before just walked around this nonchalantly the whole time?»

It’s unclear what exactly she’s teasing with the video, but she does appear to hint at new music, saying, «What I know for sure is falling in love with life itself makes an artist out of everyone. I thought I was making art before. Writing songs was me making art, but now I want my life to be the work of art and my songwriting to be the camera that I take a picture of it with. It’s what I’m living. That’s the art.»

Earlier this week, fans speculated that the «Señorita» singer was teasing a new project after she posted a series of mysterious, burnt orange images to her Instagram. Cabello is slated to perform on Saturday Night Live on Oct. 12.

Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello Hold Hands in N.Y.C. Before Meeting His Parents

0

Shawn Mendes and his rumored girlfriend Camila Cabello stepped out hand-in-hand for a stroll in Brooklyn, New York, on Friday, where they also met up with Mendes’ parents.

Cabello, 22, wore an oversized tie-dye hoodie with jeans for the outing, while Mendes opted for a white sweatshirt with black pants.

The pair has been seen packing on the PDA in recent weeks — including on Mendes’ 21st birthday on Thursday — but have yet to confirm their relationship.

On Friday, just one day after Mendes’ birthday, Cabello shared a sweet tribute to the “In My Blood” singer on Instagram, even dropping the L-word.

“Happy birthday to this magic human, I love you!!!! ❤️,” Cabello wrote alongside a polaroid, which shows Mendes sweetly fixing her hair.

The post came after Mendes and Cabello were spotted leaving Jack’s Wife Freda bistro in New York City on Thursday, and after he celebrated his major milestone birthday by renting out a hotel near New York City’s Brooklyn Bridge. Cabello was also in attendance at the party.

Rumors of their relationship began to fly following the debut of their steamy music video for “Señorita” in late June.

The musicians have been friends for years, and also collaborated on the song “I Know What You Did Last Summer” in 2015.

After being spotted in Los Angeles holding hands and spending the Fourth of July together, things seemed to heat up when they were seen kissing in San Francisco.

While vacationing in Miami at the end of July, the singers were again spotted kissing in the water. They were later seen holding hands as they wandered along the boardwalk enjoying the summer weather.

In a recent interview with Variety, Cabello talked about collaborating with Mendes on “Señorita,” saying, “I’ve known Shawn for such a long time and it’s so much fun getting to work and do things with somebody who means a lot to you.”

In addition, the former Fifth Harmony member discussed her upcoming album and revealed she wrote it while she was “falling in love” — seemingly referring to her ex-boyfriend Matthew Hussey, whom she split from in June after more than a year of dating.

“Falling in love is like an infinite amount of levels and layers and angles,” Cabello said. “I fell in love and just opened up. Everything was written in present moment.”

Camila Cabello Teams Up With Kane Brown For “Never Be The Same” Remix

0

Camila Cabello has teamed up with country star Kane Brown for a remix of “Never Be The Same,” according to Variety. The “Havana” hitmaker hinted at the collaboration yesterday (April 24). “I. HAVE. A SURPRISE. FOR YOU. THIS WEEK,” she tweeted. Kane showed his hand by replying with flame emojis. Of course, country-pop hybrids are all the rage at the moment. Florida Georgia Line and Bebe Rexha have the number one song at radio with “Meant To Be,” while Zedd and Maren Morris are close behind with “The Middle.”

The remix should be enough to propel “Never Be The Same” into the top 10. If so, it would become Camila’s third and Kane’s first. It would also expose the country crooner to a whole new audience. He is one of the genre’s hottest new stars thanks to his self-titled debut LP and a pair of crossover hits — “What Ifs,” a duet with Lauren Alaina, and “Heaven.” The latter is currently top 30 on the Billboard Hot 100 and closing in on the top spot on the country charts. Stay tuned for an official announcement shortly.

Camila Cabello Unleashes ‘Made In Miami,’ A Mini-Documentary, With YouTube

0

Camila Cabello opens up about her past and charts her rise to fame in her newly released mini-documentary, Made In Miami. The “Never Be The Same” superstar teamed up with YouTube to unleash the 17-minute special today (February 27). Directed by Tabitha Denholm, it includes exclusive interviews with Cabello and some behind-the-scenes footage from the last year. The purpose is to tell “the story of Camila’s journey from arriving in Miami from Cuba as a kid to finding her voice and releasing her debut album” while also paying tribute to “how generations of strong women have shaped the Cabello family and inspired Camila to become the artist she is today.”

After a quick reminder of all Camila accomplished since parting ways with Fifth Harmony in 2016, the documentary opens with her returning to Miami for a segment of interviews with her family. During this, her mother Sinuhe talks about the family’s decision to leave Cuba in order to pursue a better future for their daughter. Through it all, music played an important role in the pop star’s life. “I was always obsessed with artists and music,” she said. However, she admitted that being shy made it hard for her to perform in front of anyone. That all changed when she tried out for The X-Factor in 2012 and eventually became a global sensation.

As the conversation turns to her budding solo career, additional interviews from Simon CowellCharli XCXFrank Dukes and Cabello’s manager, Roger Gold offer insight into her creative process and her decisions to move on to new ventures. “She wanted the ability to make the record she wanted to make. And then she realized obviously now that people like her music. I mean, the fact that she’s number one on the single and album charts; that’s magic,” Cowell said.

That all started with the breakout success of “Havana.” Dukes, who produced the track, opened up about how the massively viral hit invigorated Camila and inspired her on to greatness. Other topics up for discussion in the documentary include the recording of the rest of Camila and other inspirations on her life. Watch Made In Miami up top and check out an additional Q&A with the hitmaker below!

Camila Cabello’s ‘Havana’ Is First Song by a Woman to Top Pop, Rhythmic & Adult Pop Songs Charts Since 1996

0

«Havana» does what no song had done since Mariah Carey & Boyz II Men’s record smash «One Sweet Day.»

Camila Cabello’s «Havana,» featuring Young Thug, rises 2-1 on Billboard‘s Adult Pop Songs radio airplay chart dated March 3 (which makes for a nice birthday present for Cabello, who was born on that date in 1997).

As «Havana» previously led the Pop Songs chart for seven weeks, beginning Dec. 7, and Rhythmic Songs for three weeks, beginning Jan. 3, the hit is the first by a female artist to simultaneously crown all three airplay tallies in 22 years, since Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men’s «One Sweet Day.» (Their ballad also ruled the Billboard Hot 100 for 16 weeks, a record matched only by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s «Despacito,» featuring Justin Bieber, last year.)

Among all acts, «Havana» is just the ninth song to have hit No. 1 on the Pop Songs, Rhythmic Songs and Adult Pop Songs airplay charts (over the 22 years that all three lists have coexisted). Here’s a chronological recap:

«One Sweet Day,» Mariah Carey & Boyz II Men, 1995-96
«Livin’ La Vida Loca,» Ricky Martin, 1999
«Mirrors,» Justin Timberlake, 2013
«Blurred Lines,» Robin Thicke feat. T.I. + Pharrell, 2013
«Happy,» Pharrell Williams, 2014
«All of Me,» John Legend, 2014
«Am I Wrong,» Nico & Vinz, 2014
«Uptown Funk!,» Mark Ronson feat. Bruno Mars, 2015
«Havana,» Camila Cabello feat. Young Thug, 2017-18

The Pop Songs chart, which began in 1992 (and just celebrated its 25th anniversary), measures total weekly plays, as tabulated by Nielsen Music, among its reporting panel of mainstream top 40 stations. Rhythmic Songs (also launched in 1992) reflects airplay on rhythmic stations that span pop to R&B/hip-hop, while Adult Pop Songs (begun in Billboard magazine in 1996) ranks songs on adult top 40 stations.

(Notably, seven of the nine multi-format No. 1s above have joined the exclusive club in the past five years. That could be attributed partly to the adult pop format’s lean this decade toward a more mainstream pop sound after years of favoring pop-rock, as such acts as Maroon 5, Katy Perry, P!nk and Taylor Swift have supplanted a host of guitar-based bands.)

Cabello earns her first Adult Pop Songs No. 1. As a member of Fifth Harmony, which she departed in December 2016, she rose as high as No. 18 on the chart with the group’s «Work From Home,» featuring Ty Dolla $ign, that July.

«Havana» previously topped the all-genre, streaming-, airplay- and sales-based Hot 100 dated Jan. 27, the same week that her debut solo album Camila debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

Meanwhile, «Havana» follow-up «Never Be the Same,» which has reached No. 27 on the Hot 100 (Feb. 17), climbs 15-14 on the March 3-dated Pop Songs chart, 24-22 on Rhythmic Songs and 30-28 on Adult Pop Songs.
