Things are going pretty well for 19-year-old Shawn Mendes these days. Fresh off the release of his honest, revealing self-titled third album, the fresh-faced heartthrob continues to reach career highs and make a name for himself in the industry.
It was just two days ago (June 4) that his third album debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 chart, marking his third effort to do so. Not just marking Mendes’ biggest sales debut, it also made him the third-youngest solo artist ever to achieve three No. 1 albums.

Today’s good news? Apple Music has confirmed that Mendes’ album Shawn Mendes is the most-streamed pop album of 2018 in its first week on Apple Music. This breaks the previous record held by the Man of the Woods himself, Justin Timberlake. As if that’s not enough, Mendes has officially surpassed 1 billion global streams on Apple Music alone. Not too shabby.
Mendes continues this week with a week-long residency at The Late Late Show With James Corden and will be playing music festivals in the States this summer before embarking on his self-titled international arena tour next spring.
