A singer with some first-hand reality show singing experience will be joining another reality singing veteran when The Voice returns to the small screen on Sept. 23 for season 17.

NBC announced on Thursday (Sept. 5) that Normani — who broke through in 2012 when she was bundled into Fifth Harmony after washing out as a solo singer on The X Factor — will join season one American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson’s team on the upcoming season.

She’ll be joined by returning former season four and six judge Usher, who will work alongside John Legend. The other two battles advisors on board for the season are Team Gwen Stefani’s Will.i.am and Team Blake Shelton’s Darius Rucker.
