Well, this is a treat. It’s been a while since Nicole Scherzinger has blessed the small screen with a live performance, but she made up for lost time on last night’s (March 23) episode of The Late Late Show With James Corden. The PCD legend belted out Sia’s “Never Give Up”— complete with an a cappella introduction and Indian shimmy. Which song? The Lion soundtrack ballad hasn’t really been pushed stateside, but it was a huge hit across Europe and Australia. After Nicole’s stunning rendition, it might get a belated burst of attention.
This performance is the latest indication that the 38-year-old is ready to resume her music career. The pop star recently shared a studio pic and has been registering new tracks. Collaborators thus far include Toby Gad (expect a ballad), Steve Mac (the man behind Ed Sheeran’s inescapable “Shape Of You”) and Norwegian singer/songwriter Ina Wroldsen (Anne-Marie’s “Alarm” and Clean Bandit’s“Rockabye”). “I can’t die with this in me,” Nicole told Merlot Mommy. “I have something that I wanna create, a project… that will be my legacy that I wanna leave behind.”
