From an elaborate scam website to billboards for a non-existent drug, Eminem has been dropping hints that he’s about to unleash his 9th album for weeks. All signs point to the album being called Revival with the release date of November 17 looking increasingly likely. (After all, he’s performing on Saturday Night Live on November 18). The buzz reached fever pitch today when the legendary rapper seemingly revealed the title of the lead single. He posted a picture of a prescription pad with the words “Walk On Water.”
Four years have passed since the release of The Marshall Mathers LP 2, an album that sold quadruple platinum and produced three top 10 singles including all-conquering Rihanna collaboration “The Monster.” Since then, Eminem has dropped a couple of soundtrack songs and featured on tracks by Yelawolf, Skylar Grey and Pink. He also went viral by taking shots at Donald Trump at the recent BET Awards. No doubt, Revival will challenge Taylor Swift’s Reputation for the year’s biggest first-week sales tally.
