Charli XCX Teases A New Mixtape Featuring Carly Rae Jepsen & Tove Lo
It looks like Charli XCX is about to save pop with another mixtape. The Brit teased the project on Twitter last night (December 3) and shared a list of potential collaborators including Carly Rae Jepsen, Tove Lo, MØ, Alma, Kim Petras, CupcakKe, Brooke Candy, Pabllo Vittar and Caroline Polachek. That lineup sounds too good to be true, but it didn’t take an update account long to find the purported tracklist. If it’s valid, we’re about to get a Charli x CRJ duet called “Backseat” — among other pop treasures.
Of course, the “Vroom Vroom” hitmaker dropped a mixtape earlier this year called Number 1 Angel. It was a response to her record label continuously pushing back her third album and contained collaborations with MØ, Starrah, RAYE and Uffie as well as CupcakKe’s introduction to the (kind of) mainstream, “Lipgloss.” Hopefully, Charli will drop the project before Christmas and snatch a place on some best of 2017 countdowns.
