Alesso & Armin van Buuren Tease Their First Collaboration

As a special Valentine’s Day treat, Alesso and Armin van Buuren have teased a new collaboration, “Leave A Little Love.”

Surprisingly, as far as we can tell, this will be the first time the two have ever worked on a track together, original, remix, or otherwise. Despite both of them being such massive stars, either their styles never matched or the opportunity just never came up… until now.

Both Alesso and Armin shared tweets with matching captions and nearly identical images — Alesso’s featured his logo, and Armin’s featured his own.

Stay tuned to find out when this one is going to drop!

Taylor Swift Announces Re-Recorded ‘Fearless’ Album: Updated ‘Love Story’ Out Tonight

Taylor Swift’s first No. 1 album and breakthrough full-length will be the first to be released in its re-recorded version. On Thursday (Feb. 11), Swift announced that she has re-recorded her blockbuster 2008 album Fearless, as Fearless (Taylor’s Version), and that the updated lead single, “Love Story (Taylor’s Version),” will be unveiled on Thursday night (Feb. 11).

«This process has been more fulfilling and emotional than I could’ve imagined and has made me even more determined to re-record all of my music,» Swift wrote in a note to fans. «I hope you’ll like this first outing as much as I liked traveling back in time to recreate it.»

While Swift did not announce the release date of the re-recorded version of Fearless, the “new” album will include «6 never-before-released songs from the vault.» In December, a snippet of the re-recorded “Love Story” was used in a commercial directed by actor Ryan Reynolds.

Swift announced her intention to re-record her first six albums — released between 2006 and 2017 by Big Machine Label Group — in 2019, following the acquisition of her master recordings by Scooter Braun. Swift had tried to buy back her masters for years prior to the sale, and began re-recording her back catalog last November.

“It’s going to be fun, because it’ll feel like regaining a freedom and taking back what’s mine,” Swift told Billboard in 2019 of rerecording her catalog. “When I created [these songs], I didn’t know what they would grow up to be. Going back in and knowing that it meant something to people is actually a really beautiful way to celebrate what the fans have done for my music.”

Instead of kicking off the release of her rerecorded albums with her 2006 self-titled debut, Swift has gone with Fearless, which spawned the top 20 hits “Love Story,” “You Belong With Me,” “White Horse” and its title track. Fearless has earned 10.2 million equivalent album units (through Feb. 4) according to MRC Data. Of that sum, 7.2 million are in album sales.

Fearless was Swift’s first album to top the Billboard 200 chart, spending 11 nonconsecutive weeks at No. 1. The album also earned Swift her first Grammy Awards, including album of the year; she later won the same award with 2014’s 1989, and could win her third album of the year trophy next month with Folklore.

Cardi B presenta “Up”

Cardi B Releasing New Song “UP” This Week

Cardi B is releasing a new song called “UP” on Friday (February 5). Check out the artwork below.

Cardi’s most recent single was August’s “WAP” with Megan Thee Stallion, which set a new record for the biggest debut streaming week. Folloowing the song’s commercial success, it was not submitted for Grammy consideration this year. The song will reportedly be submitted next year as part of Cardi’s next album, but plans for her follow-up to 2018’s Invasion of Privacy have not yet been announced.

In addition to “WAP,” Cardi appeared as a guest on BLACKPINK’s “Bet You Wanna” and Anitta’s “Me Gusta” in 2020.

First Stream: New Music From Billie Eilish & Rosalia, Anuel AA & Ozuna, Sabrina Carpenter and More

This week, Billie Eilish and Rosalía combine innovative spirits, Anuel AA and Ozuna team up for a blockbuster full-length, and Sabrina Carpenter shares her side of the story. Check out all of this week’s First Stream picks below:

Billie Eilish & Rosalía, «Lo Vas a Olvidar»

On «Lo Vas a Olvidar,” two of the most daring new voices in global pop music join forces, as Billie Eilish and Rosalía — who, this time nearly a year ago, were best new artist competitors at the Grammys, an award which Eilish eventually took home — find a common ground for their disparate sounds. While Eilish sounds comfortable singing in Spanish on the song, Rosalía makes the greater sonic jump, crooning on a chorus that recalls some of Eilish’s most poignant mid-tempo tracks.

Anuel AA & Ozuna, Los Dioses

“We wanted people to feel both of us in every single song,” Ozuna told Billboard about Los Dioses, his surprise joint full-length with fellow reggaeton leader Anuel AA. “It was like, ‘Damn, let’s do things differently. Let me sing the verse and you do the chorus because people expect the opposite.’” Indeed, Los Dioses finds the two stars swapping roles and skillfully challenging each other, with songs like “Antes” demonstrating the best-case scenario of combining Anuel’s gritty flow and Ozuna’s melodic delivery.

Sabrina Carpenter, «Skin»

“Maybe you didn’t mean it / Maybe ‘blonde’ was the only rhyme,” Sabrina Carpenter sings on “Skin,” a thinly veiled response to Olivia Rodrigo’s “Drivers License,” which exploded thanks in part to the intrigue of the rumored love triangle between Rodrigo, her High School Musical co-star Joshua Bassett, and Carpenter. Whether or not the drama intrigues you, Carpenter goes for the jugular here — “You can try to get under my, under my, under my skin, while he’s on mine,” goes the knockout lyric — and delivers her most confident single in recent memory.

Silk City feat. Ellie Goulding, «New Love»

Silk City, the moniker of Mark Ronson and Diplo’s joint project, caught lightning in a bottle in 2018 with their Dua Lipa collaboration “Electricity,” and try to replicate that win with Ellie Goulding on their latest single. “New Love” leans into the nu-disco movement in modern pop, with Goulding’s steady hand guiding the track forward until the hook opens up into a full-on dance party.

BRS Kash, Kash Only

Rabble-rousing Atlanta rapper BRS Kash has scored a viral hit with his track “Throat Baby (Go Baby),” and fully arrives this week with his debut, Kash Only. The guest stars show up to lend co-signs — “Throat Baby” gets a remix featuring DaBaby and City Girls — but the MC also sounds relaxed while riding melodies solo, as he does on the shimmering trap track “Do It.”

Jason Derulo feat. Adam Levine, «Lifestyle»

Jason Derulo and Maroon 5 both hit the pop charts for the first time in the 2000s, which means they’ve both scoring regular pop hits for over a decade. “Lifestyle” combines their top 40-friendly talents as well as offers a throwback to the pop trends of the late-‘00s, its fluttery bounce reminiscent of the Jamaican wave that Derulo rode in on with “Whatcha Say” way back when.

jxdn, «Drivers License»

Less than a week after Olivia Rodrigo’s “Drivers License” streaked to the top of the Hot 100 chart, the smash hit has already received a brilliantly executed pop-punk cover. Jaden Hossler, who broke through on alternative radio last year as jxdn, nails this re-imagining, particularly on the shout-along bridge that harnesses the anthemic energy of Rodrigo’s original.

Dua Lipa teases release of ‘Future Nostalgia’ b-sides

Dua Lipa has teased the forthcoming release of a series of ‘Future Nostalgia’ b-sides.

The singer’s second album arrived in March and was followed in August by its subsequent remix record ‘Club Future Nostalgia’, compiled by The Blessed Madonna.

Since then the singer has shared a new single called ‘Fever’, and shared a host of collaborations. These include a link-up with DaBaby on a new version of ‘Future Nostalgia’ track ‘Levitating’, appearing alongside Miley Cyrus on ‘Prisoner’ from Cyrus’ new album ‘Plastic Hearts’, and re-working Kylie Minogue’s ‘Real Groove’ alongside the Aussie star herself.

Now, Dua has hinted that more new music from the ‘Future Nostalgia’ era is on the way. “B-sides are on the way…” she tweeted on Sunday (January 17), though there is no information yet on a release date for the songs nor how much material will be shared.

See the teaser below.

In recent weeks Dua Lipa has responded to the backlash she faced last year for being filmed at a strip club after the Grammys. The star and other artists who were present at the Los Angeles venue, including Lizzo and Lil Nas X, were criticised for “exploiting women” and being “anti-feminist”.

“I just feel like, if you’re a feminist, you have to also support women in all fields of work,” she told Rolling Stone in response. “We have to support sex workers, we have to believe that that [work] is their choice and their right.”

The singer also shared a livestreamed gig called Studio 2054 at the end of last year. In a review of the event, NME wrote: “Studio 2054 goes some way to completing Lipa’s evolution from good to great that started with the release of ‘Future Nostalgia’.

“Although the routines on show tonight aren’t the most complex, they flesh out her performance enough that now she has the songs, the personality and the presence that all true icons possess.”

Diplo & Mark Ronson Announce The Return Of Silk City

It looks like we’ll be getting new music from the producer super-duo Silk City in 2021. Diplo and Mark Ronson first started the housey disco project back in 2018, and it saw some major success with their track “Electricity” with Dua Lipa, going platinum. Mark Ronson took to Twitter this afternoon to announce their return with a simple post saying “…and we’re back.”

We would absolutely love to see these two drop an album this year. They’ve only released a handful of singles so far (and one remix), and each one is brimming with infectious, feel-good, dancey vibes; the perfect combination of house and pop.

According to another tweet, there’s going to be a big name for the feature on their upcoming track. Definitely stay tuned for what’s to come.
