Kanye West Has Reportedly Bought A House Across The Street From Ex Kim Kardashian

Kanye West has reportedly bought a new home, this one right across the street from his ex, Kim Kardashian, who filed for divorce in February of this year. In the past month or so, West has been running a campaign to win back his wife by making public declarations about wanting to reconcile. This decision to buy a home on her block could be read in a number of ways, but it’s most likely that he wants to be close by to continue their healthy co-parenting relationship of their four children.

The $4.5 million home is just over 3,650 square feet and has 5 bedrooms; West allegedly paid $421,000 over asking price. It has a swimming pool and a stable, because amongst all of his other talents, West is apparently also a man who keeps horses. The house supposedly needs some work, but West is no stranger to managing properties. In September, West purchased a $57.3 million home in Malibu and set his former bachelor pad for sale at $3.7 million.

The divorce for West and Kardashian has not yet been completed, but Kardashian recently filed to have her ex’s name removed from her own and to be “officially single,” leaving the other details of their property and assets to be resolved later down the line. Kardashian is currently dating comedian Pete Davidson, and was spending time with him leading up to the Christmas holiday.

Both Davidson and West were reportedly invited to the traditional holiday party thrown by Kris Jenner and her family, but the event was scaled back due to rising COVID-19 cases. It’s unclear if either one of them attended the smaller celebration. It was the first Christmas Kardashian has spent with her kids since filing for divorce, and they spent it in style.

Adele’s ‘30’ Becomes 2021’s Best-Selling Vinyl Album, Holds at No. 1 on Top Album Sales Chart

Adele’s 30 spends a fourth consecutive, and total, week at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart (dated Dec. 25) – and also becomes 2021’s top-selling album on vinyl.

Across all of its available formats, both physical and digital, 30 sold 146,000 copies in the United States in the week ending Dec. 16 (down 2%) according to MRC Data. Its total sales climb to 1.21 million. It is the only album released in 2021 to sell a million copies.

30 also rules the Vinyl Albums chart for a fourth week, selling 41,000 copies (up 16%). Its total sales on vinyl now climb to 234,000 – becoming 2021’s top-selling album on wax. It surpasses the previous top-seller, Taylor Swift’s Evermore, which has sold 232,000 on vinyl through Dec. 16.

With 30 spending a fourth week at No. 1 on Top Album Sales, the set becomes the first album with four weeks in a row at No. 1 in over a year, since Swift’s Folklore spent its first five weeks at No. 1 (Aug. 8 – Sept. 5, 2020-dated charts), of its seven total nonconsecutive weeks in the lead. 30 is the second album released in 2021 to rack up at least four weeks at No. 1 on Top Album Sales, following Olivia Rodrigo’s Sour, which has notched four nonconsecutive weeks in charge.

Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart ranks the top-selling albums of the week based only on traditional album sales. The chart’s history dates back to May 25, 1991, the first week Billboard began tabulating charts with electronically monitored piece count information from SoundScan, now MRC Data. Pure album sales were the sole measurement utilized by the Billboard 200 albums chart through the list dated Dec. 6, 2014, after which that chart switched to a methodology that blends album sales with track equivalent album units and streaming equivalent album units. For all chart news, follow @billboard and @billboardcharts on both Twitter and Instagram.

Swift’s former Top Album Sales No. 1, Red (Taylor’s Version), holds steady at No. 2 on the latest Top Album Sales tally, with 33,000 sold (down 14%).

MONSTA X’s latest album, The Dreaming, debuts at No. 3 with 29,500 copies sold. Of that sum, 28,000 were sold on CD and 1,500 were sold via digital download. The album was not available on any physical format aside from CD. Like many K-pop releases, the CD edition of the album was issued in multiple collectible packages (more than 10, including a Target-exclusive edition) each with a set of standard internal paper goods and randomized elements (trading cards, sticker sheet, poster, etc.).

The Weeknd will be based on Aaliyah’s new posthumous album with the song poison

The Canadian thus sees one of his musical dreams fulfilled.

This year, much of Aaliyah’s music arrived to streaming services for the first time. A posthumous album from the singer is next, and on Friday (December 17), a new single called “Poison” will be released via Blackground Records 2.0 and Empire. It features the Weeknd. Find the single artwork below.

Barry Hankerson, Blackground founder and Aaliyah’s uncle, told Billboard earlier this year that the new album would feature the Weeknd, Drake, Future, and others. The streaming releases this year arrived amid a dispute between Hankerson and the Estate of Aaliyah Haughton.

It’s notably one of two significant features from the Weeknd to arrive on the same night. He also appears on FKA twigs’ new song “Tears in the Club,” which is out on Thursday night (December 16). It follows his recent singles with Rosalía and Post Malone.

BTS Breaks Taylor Swift’s Record For Most Weeks At No. 1 On Billboard’s Digital Song Sales Chart

BTS has just set an impressive new record on the Billboard charts!

On December 13 local time, Billboard announced that BTS’s smash hit “Butter” had re-entered its Digital Song Sales chart at No. 1, marking the song’s 18th non-consecutive week at the top of the chart.

With this latest achievement, BTS has now spent a combined total of 46 weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Digital Song Sales chart, breaking Taylor Swift’s record to become the artist with the most cumulative weeks at No. 1 in the history of the chart.

Additionally, “Butter” has now tied the record set by BTS’s own “Dynamite” for the song to spend the most weeks at No. 1 in the history of the Digital Song Sales chart.

Congratulations to BTS!

Drake withdraws grammy nominations for 2022

The artist was nominated for best rap performance for his song «Way 2 Sexy» featuring Young Thug and Future and for best rap album for ‘Certified Lover Boy.’

Drake has asked the Recording Academy to withdraw his two nominations for the 2022 Grammy Awards.

The artist was nominated for best rap performance for his song “Way 2 Sexy” featuring Young Thug and Future, and best rap album for Certified Lover Boy.

A source close to the situation tells THR that the Recording Academy received a request from Drake and his management to remove his nominations from the final-round ballot. Variety was first to report the news.

His 2022 nominations are not visible on his artist page on the Grammys’ website.  The Recording Academy also added the nomination changes to its list of updates

Though it is unclear why the four-time Grammy winner and his management withdrew the nominations, the decision follows the artist speaking out against the Recording Academy following The Weeknd’s high-profile snubs last year..

“I think we should stop allowing ourselves to be shocked every year by the disconnect between impactful music and these awards and just accept that what once was the highest form of recognition may no longer matter to the artists that exist now and the ones that come after,” Drake wrote on Instagram shortly after the nominations for the 2021 ceremony were announced. “It’s like a relative you keep expecting to fix up but they just can’t change their ways.” (Despite The Weeknd having announced plans at the time to boycott the Grammy Awards moving forward, he still secured three Grammy nominationsfor the 2022 ceremony.)

Drake has also voiced frustration over his own previous nominations and wins. The artist reportedly declined to submit his mixtape More Life for consideration for the 2018 Grammys and complained about the Recording Academy only recognizing him as a rap artist when his hits at the time were in the pop genre. His single “Hotline Bling” was nominated and won for best rap song and best rap/sung collaboration at the 2017 ceremony.

“I’m a Black artist, I’m apparently a rapper, even though ‘Hotline Bling’ is not a rap song,” Drake said in a February 2017 interview with Britain’s DJ Semtex. “The only category that they can manage to fit me in is in a rap category, maybe because I’ve rapped in the past or because I’m Black.”

Added Drake: “I won two awards, but I don’t even want them because it feels weird to me.”

It’s worth noting that despite the two nominations, Drake was once again shut out of the major categories.

While revealing the nominations for the 2022 show last Tuesday, the Recording Academy also announced that it was expanding the field of nominees in four general categories from eight to 10 as a way “to make room for more music, more artists and more genres and to embrace the spirit of inclusion.”

  • No Love (with SZA)
  • Bitter (with Cardi B)
  • Ex for a Reason (with JT)
  • Throw It Away
  • Reciprocate
  • Toxic (feat. Lil Durk)
  • Unloyal (with Ari Lennox)
  • Constant Bulls**t
  • You Don’t Know Me
  • Insane
  • Circus
  • 4th Baby Mama
  • Switch a N*gga Out
  • Closure
  • Session 33
  • Screwin (with Omarion)
  • Broken Promises
  • Dat Right There (with Pharrell Williams & The Neptunes

¡Temazos!

Shawn Mendes announces new single.

Looks like Shawn Mendes could be channeling his heartbreak into a new song. On Tuesday (Nov. 30), the singer-songwriter took to Instagram to tease a new single titled “It’ll Be Okay.”

Set against a stark, black backdrop with the track’s title scrawled across the screen, the 12-second clip features Mendes singing, “Are we gonna make it?/ Is this gonna hurt?” over swelling, organ-esque synths. “It’ll Be Okay” arrives just two weeks after the Canadian crooner and girlfriend Camila Cabello announced their breakup after more than two years together. At the time, the “Señorita” collaborators released a joint statement promising fans that they “started our relationship as best friends and will continue to be best friends.”

Whether it’s a one-off or a taste of more to come, the ballad’s release date also falls just shy of the one-year anniversary of Mendes’ most recent studio set, 2020’s Wonder. Led by the bombastic title track and all-star Justin Bieber collab “Monster,” the LP rocketed to the top of the Billboard 200, becoming the singer’s fourth consecutive album to land at No. 1 on the tally.

Now, the newly single star is prepping for 2022’s Wonder: The World Tour, which kicks off its European leg on March 14 in Copenhagen, Denmark before heading stateside next summer with openers Dermot Kennedy and Tate McRae.

Rihanna becomes a national heroine of Barbados.

Rihanna is a global pop superstar, beauty mogul, actor, fashion designer, entrepreneur, and recent billionaire. She’s already attained icon status, and now she has a new title: the Right Excellent Robyn Rihanna Fenty.

On November 30, Rihanna was named a national hero of her home country, Barbados. She was born in the Barbadian parish of Saint Michael, and on the country’s 55th Independence Day, she was awarded the nation’s highest honor.

“Nothing compares to being recognized in the soil that you grew in,» Rihanna said during her acceptance speech.

“Barbadians are a proud people,” she said. “We are probably the proudest people I know. No matter where I go, in the world I take that pride with me.”

Rihanna shared her pride for the youth of Barbados and thanked Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley for the honor.

“I’m so proud to be a Bajan,” Rihanna continued. “I’m gonna be a Bajan till the day I die. This is still the only place I’ve ever called home.”

In her announcement of the honor, Prime Minister Mottley thanked Rihanna for her discipline and her “extraordinary commitment to the land of her birth.»

“May you continue to shine like a diamond and bring honor to our nation by your works, by your actions,” Mottley told Rihanna.

Rihanna received the award following a presidential inauguration ceremony in the country’s capital, Bridgetown. The country has removed Queen Elizabeth II as its head of state, and its crowning of Rihanna as national hero was done on the the first day of the country’s parliamentary republic.

Barbados has done plenty to celebrate Rihanna before this title. In 2008, former Barbadian prime minister David Thompson declared February 22 Rihanna Day, and in 2017, the street of her childhood home was renamed Rihanna Drive. (Why does that make me think of her hit “Shut Up and Drive”?!)
